Indoor Fun For Preschoolers (Part 1 of 2)

Parents of preschoolers know the benefits of keeping the little ones entertained. Luckily, it’s not that difficult. Here are some types and examples of fun, inside activities that will keep your babes busy for hours…

Board Games

These types of games can help children learn new information, improve motor skills, develop strategic planning abilities, and get better at following instructions.

A few I recommend:

Chutes and Ladders- A classic that helps kids learn their numbers (and the inherent danger of trying to steal from the cookie jar) while having fun. If your child is a fan of Spongebob Squarepants, you might want to pick up the newer version of the game called Eels and Escalators.

Sorry- This game helps little guy and girls learn to be better sports– even if the game is not going their way. Because players are prompted to say “sorry” after moves that set other players back, this game is full of extra polite fun.

Hullabaloo– This high-energy electronic board game mixes music, sounds and movement to create one of the most exciting games in recent years that really gets kids moving. Just start the machine and it will play music while telling you how to move from one shape to the other. For example, “Tip toe to a musical instrument.” At some point the voice will say, “freeze!”, and announce, “whoever is standing on ___, you win!”

Stay tuned! Tomorrow we’ll look at some games that only require a few household items and a healthy dose of imagination.

Don’t forget to protect those you love and care for the most with a home security system, which can provide a lifeline in case of medical emergencies, fires, and of course burglaries. I personally recommend ADT home security systems. ADT is the leading provider of home security systems in the U.S., with more than 100 years of experience.
